Three dead in Natchez accident

Three people are dead in Natchez after their truck plunged off a street and went down a 60-foot embankment.

Natchez police Chief Mike Mullins said the accident occurred about 11:30 Wednesday night.

Police say that the accident remains under investigation and the names of the fatalities haven't been released.

Mullins says three passengers in the truck were killed and the driver was taken to the Natchez hospital, where his condition was not available.

Mullins said a police officer clocked the truck traveling at 80 miles per hour before the accident.
