Lamar County land dispute leads to gunfire

A land dispute between two Lamar County brothers has resulted in gunfire.

Sheriff Danny Rigel says the incident happened Friday on property on Beech Road, just off the Purvis to Baxterville Road.  Rigel says a 65-year-old man shot his 61-year-old brother with a shotgun, hitting him in the arm and leg.

The names of the brothers have not be released.

The alleged shooter is expected to appear in court Tuesday on aggravated assault charges.
