PSC opens H'burg office

Hurricane Katrina destroyed the office of the Mississippi Public Service Commission on the Gulf Coast. But now the commission has a new home in the  Industrial Park in Hattiesburg. A ribbon-cutting was held Tuesday.

There had been talk of shutting the office down, says Leonard Bentz, commissioner for the southern district, but the commission decided to move to Hattiesburg.

The public service commission is in charge of regulating public utilities and telephone solicitation.
