Bitter Rivals Open SEC Tournament


Mississippi St., Ole Miss to play in first round of SEC


JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi State and Ole Miss will get a

chance to break their season series tie in this week's Southeastern

Conference tournament.

In pairings announced yesterday (Saturday), the two schools will

play in Wednesday's opening round.

The Bulldogs are seeded fourth and the Rebels are Number five.

The teams split their four games this season with Mississippi

State winning the Governor's Cup and Ole Miss earning a 2-to-1 win

in their SEC series.

Southern Miss wrapped up the third seed in the Conference USA

tournament and will play Alabama-Birmingham on Wednesday.
