A skull has been found on the grounds of the Vicksburg National Military Park. The park's chief of operations, Rick Martin, says the bones were found Monday in a heavily wooded area between railroad tracks and the Texas Memorial on the South Loop of the park. He says the bones were not from the Civil War, but they've been there a while. Martin says he had been looking into recent vandalism at the park when he made the discovery. He says the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Vicksburg police and the Warren County Sheriff's Department are assisting in the investigation.
