Letter carriers deliver donated food to the needy

Many aid agencies are receiving a little something extra with their mail tonight, which will help feed the hungry in the Pine Belt.  The American Red Cross, The United Way, The Salvation Army and Christian Services, Inc. are some of the organizations which received a lot of non-perishable food items today.

It was all part of the annual, National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.  And many of you made it possible, by leaving bags of canned goods and other items next to your mailboxes for letter carriers to pick-up.

They then turned that food over to those aid agencies, so that they could provide meals for the needy.  This was the 15th year for the food drive.
