Multi-purpose building opens at Baxterville

Students in Baxterville have a new place for stage productions, physical education and music tonight.  The Multi-Purpose Building at Baxterville Attendance Center officially opened with a ribbon-cutting.

The $1.3 million facility includes a stage, a library and two tech-prep rooms.  It was built with funds from a $43 million bond issue passed on this day in 2005.  Funds from the bond issue are also being used to build new schools at Oak Grove, Purvis and Sumrall and have already paid for an 18-classroom addition at Oak Grove High School.
