A Vicksburg attorney is hoping to be Mississippi's next Secretary of State. Republican Delbert Hosemann supports voter identification and wants to improve the management of public lands.
He was in Laurel this morning to participate in an early morning run as part of the annual "Day in the Park" event. After the run, Hosemann met with supporters at Laurel's Signatures Coffee House.
"Historically, it's (Secretary of State) been a quiet but active office," said Hosemann. "We'll be the leaders in presenting to the legislature changes for voter reform, we'll be the leaders for business law reform, we'll be the leaders in 16th section land issues as they come up, and public lands issues," he said.
