Careless convict led Jones deputies to him

A Jones  County man,  out of prison for less than a week, is back in custody after being arrested on aggravated assault charges.

James Miller, 31, was apprehended by Jones County deputies Tuesday night in a wooded area off Highway 28.

Miller is accused of attacking an 82-year-old man in his Indian Springs home late Monday night.  The victim was struck in the head with a vase and required stitches.

Sheriff Larry Dykes says Miller apparently dropped his ID in the woods when he fled.

Authorities say Miller was just released from a state prison facility in Leakesville on Friday.
