JCJC drug raid sends hoops star to jail

A JCJC basketball player is off the court and could be facing 30 years in prison after allegedly being caught with illegal drugs on campus.

Skyler Culberson of Pascagoula, No. 14 on the team, was arrested Monday night after Jones County sheriff's deputies say they raided his dorm room and found a pound of marijuana.

A justice court judge Tuesday set bond at $50,000.

"Hopefully what we did yesterday will prevent these students from thinking they can bring dope with them to school," said Jones County investigator James Hunter Grimes.

Because the drug was allegedly found on a college campus, Culberson could get 30 years in prison if convicted.
