Laurel police want residents to beware of a young man going door-to-door running a scam in the name of Mississippi universities.
Several older women in Laurel report that a suspicious white man in his late teens came to their homes asking for a donation to help buy books for students in London.
Authorities say they believe this is a scam. They know very little about the individual but they are hoping to catch him in action.
Police say if a stranger comes to your door asking for money but looks suspicious, don't hesitate to contact authorities.
