The last of three former agents of the Southeast Mississippi Drug Task Force was sentenced in Jones County Circuit Court. Judge Billy Joe Landrum sentenced Chris Smith to 24 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections. Chris Smith will spend 12 months in jail, and 12 more months under house arrest. He was charged with 4 counts simple assault, 2 counts conspiracy to falsely arrest and 1 count obstruction of justice. Smith joins two other agents Commander Roger Williams and Randal Parker. They were charged with evidence tampering, embezzlement and obstruction of justice.
