Math classes at Jones County Junior College are now being offered outside the traditional classroom.
JCJC says it's the only college in the Pine Belt area to offer math classes on the computer using the math lab system.
Students are able to work at their own pace to finish lessons and homework. Classes can also be accessed through a computer from any location.
Instructors say it's an effective and efficient method.
"They've learned that they learn better," says math instructor Kerri Pippin. "They like the fact that they get immediate feedback on tests and they like the fact that they get to work at their own pace and ask questions and get help from an instructor."
The math lab system has been in place since the fall of 2005.
