Petal Wendy's Robbed at Gunpoint

Petal Police are looking for the man who robbed a local restaurant at gunpoint early Sunday morning.

Police Lt. Tammy Moore tells us a young black man with a thin build crawled through the drive-thru window of the Wendy's on Highway 42 East around 12:50 a.m., and used a handgun to rob the store of cash.

During the robbery, the suspect herded four employees into a freezer, but did not lock them in.

He left through the rear door and stole an employee's car to make his get-a-way.

That car, which has not been recovered, is a gold Dodge Intrepid with Forrest County plates.

No one was injured in the robbery.

It's the second armed robbery in Petal in five days.

If you have any information about the incident, call Petal Police at (601) 544-5331.
