A Forrest County railroad crossing which was the scene of a fatal train crash just a month ago claimed another life on Saturday.
17-year-old Thomas Jones, Jr. of Purvis died when his Dodge pick-up truck was hit by a northbound AMTRAK train at a dangerous railroad crossing near Eastabuchie Road and Highway 11.
Just last month, 20-year old Andie Sumrall was killed after his car was struck by an AMTRAK train at the same intersection, a rail crossing that has been the scene of eight train-vehicle crashes in eight years.
Five of those have been fatal.
A week after Sumrall's death, the Mississippi Department of Transportation announced it would install warning gates at the intersection within nine to twelve months.
