Driver jailed after mowing down 6 kids

Police have arrested a Gulfport teenager after she allegedly drove a car into six juveniles at a school bus stop Monday morning.

Kreshandra Pruitt, 18, was charged with six counts of aggravated assault, officers said. The injured, ranging in age from 12 to 17, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Deputy Police Chief Alfred Sexton said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The injuries occurred at about 7:15 a.m. at the bus stop at Bonita and Castille drives following a fight been two male teenagers in the same area, Sexton said. Apparently Pruitt, who is related to one of the teens involved in the altercation, drove a 1990 Honda Accord into the youths, then left the scene, he said.

Sexton said Pruitt was arrested less than an hour later at her home on Castille Drive. She was ordered held on $100,000 bond at the Harrison County jail.
