Marks re-focuses attention to local education

An education advocate is retiring from his role on a national level to shift his attention to Hattiesburg.  Earlier this month, Michael Marks vacated his position on the National Board of Teaching Standards.

At the end of the academic year he'll finish his term with the National Education Association.  Marks has been on leave for the past 10 years from his teaching job at Hattiesburg High.

Mark says he's eager to focus on education in the Pine Belt full-time.  Marks' career in education spans 30 years.
