Historic Church Relocated to Old Tatum Timber Site

We often see people being moved in church, but we don't often see a church being moved by people.

But, that's what happened today, along Bonhomie Road in Hattiesburg, as the old Tatum Timber Company church was moved, completely intact, back to its original 1915 location...on land that is now part of Molpus Timberlands Management.

That company bought the building from the Hub City's Greater New Apostolic Church, which had owned it for about 40 years.

The church will be restored and it will occupy a prominent spot next to two other historic buildings on site which were part of the Tatum Timber Company nearly 100 years ago.

The distance covered in the move was about 1 1/2 miles.
