Two Hattiesburg men have been arrested and charged with capital murder in the kidnapping and slaying of a Jackson teenager.
The body of 16-year-old Jeffrey Rashaad Gunn was found beneath a bridge on Sims Road in Hattiesburg Thursday.
Authorities say Gunn had been kidnapped two days earlier in Jackson and apparently brought to Hattiesburg. It's believed Gunn may have been killed on the bridge and that his assailants tried to toss his body into the Leaf River. They missed, and his body landed on a log.
Lawrence Gaines, 27, and Duvhyn Thomas, 23, made their initial court appearances Friday and were ordered held without bond.
Authorities refuse to comment on a motive.
