Man pleads guilty to felony charges in federal court

FORREST COUNTY (WDAM) - On Aug. 9, Jefferson Sandford, Jr. pleaded guilty during a change of plea hearing at the William J. Colmer Federal Building before District Judge Keith Starrett.

Sandford pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of possession of a weapon not registered in the national firearms registration and transfer record. Attorney's for the government said 35 firearms were seized from Sandford's vehicle and home--- some of which traveled through interstate commerce.

His sentencing date has not been set yet.
