A former Wayne Academy coach is accused of killing his wife before killing himself on Sunday, according to the sheriff of Washington County, Alabama. It happened at the couple's home in the Red Creek area of the county west of Millry, according to Sheriff Richard Stringer.
Stringer identified the husband as Gary Sullivan, who was also a former high school employee at Millry High School in Alabama. He said Sullivan killed his wife, Mel Ann, and then killed himself. Stringer said the incident happened at about 8 Sunday morning, but they don't know what prompted it.
Mel Ann Sullivan was the County Industrial Coordinator.
Multiple weapons were recovered at the scene. Both bodies were sent to the state forensics lab in Mobile.
