HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Provision Living at Hattiesburg joined an estimated 1,000 local groups to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of National Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday.
As an official event site, Provision Living held a Public Health Fair and Blood Drive. The celebration began at 9 a.m. with an official proclamation by Mayor Toby Barker.
The goal of the event is to get older adults across the country participating in local activities to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical activity, good nutrition and preventive care.
"Our Health Fair is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to meet all the healthcare professionals and learn about healthcare options that are available in the Pine Belt. We are proud the be an official site for National Senior Health and Fitness Day for the 3rd year," said Tanya Price, with Provision Living.
National Senior Health and Fitness Day is always held on the last Wednesday in May.
