Jones County Sheriff's Deputies and the Narcotics Division seized nearly 130 grams of meth and arrested three people In less than 14 hours, Friday.
Around 4:00 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 15 north of Laurel. During the stop, authorities discovered 36.9 grams of methamphetamine in the possession of Kevin Heidelberg and Jeremy Newell. Both Heidelberg and Newell were arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent.
In less than 14 hours later, deputies responded to a disturbance at the Magnolia Hotel on Highway 11. When deputies arrived, they smelled marijuana coming from outside one of the rooms. When they entered the room, they found a loaded firearm, several Ecstasy pills, several ounces of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and 93.5 grams of methamphetamine in the possession of Wilson Graves. Graves was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Ecstasy, Possession of Marijuana with Intent and while in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
All three men will make their court appearance Sunday at the Jones County Justice Court. Newell and Graves are expected to be held for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
