Live Updates: USM defeats UTSA in C-USA tournament

BILOXI, MS (WDAM) -

Southern Miss captured its second win of the 2018 Conference USA Championship at MGM Park in Biloxi. 

Top-seeded USM defeated UTSA 5-3 Friday afternoon to improve to 2-0 in the tournament and advance to play at 12:30 tomorrow. The Golden Eagles will face the winner of the Charlotte/UTSA game. 

Southern Miss beat University of Alabama-Birmingham 2-0 in its first win on Thursday, with Nick Sandlin striking out 12 in the Southern Miss win.
