Lamar County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a body was found in a freezer Tuesday inside a home on Purvis Oloh Road. Sheriff Danny Rigel confirms two persons of interest have been taken into custody for questioning.
"We think they will be the ones responsible for this, but it's really preliminary in the investigation," Rigel said.

Rigel said the department received a call just before 1 p.m. about a man's body being found in a freezer by a family member and neighbor.
Rigel said the man was reported missing Monday by family members, but it's unclear the last time he was seen alive. Investigators also could not say how long the body had been in the freezer.
"The family members started looking all through the house, they did a cursory search through the house yesterday and did not find him, but you don't normally look for somebody in the freezer," said Rigel. "A little more examining, they found it and called us."
Rigel said the department obtained a search warrant to go inside the home to investigate. A Hattiesburg Crime Scene Unit was also on the scene.
Rigel said the remains have been removed from the home and will be sent to the State Crime Lab in Jackson for an autopsy. A cause of death has not been determined, but nothing is being ruled out, according to Rigel.
"Every indication was that this is going to be a murder," Rigel said.
