The Hattiesburg Area Daylily society gets recognition

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg Area Daylily Society (HADS) was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Forrest County Board of Supervisors for their donation of daylilies to the Rawls Springs Recreational Track and Community center.

District 2 supervisor Charles Marshall presented the certificate during the clubs monthly meeting.

Earl Watts, public relations officer with HADS, says he was surprised by the recognition but honored to know that their work is being noticed.

"Well, it surprised me you know because I love to give people daylilies," Watts said. "I love to do that because I love to try my best to promote the daylilies."

The club is currently preparing for their 23rd annual Daylily Show, which will take place June 2 at the Lake Terrance Convention Center.
