HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

United Blood Services is preparing for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday by reaching out to the public for blood donations.

The organization is asking people in the community to honor our fallen heroes with a blood donation to ensure those critical blood supplies are available for the busy holiday weekend.

If you donate between May 14 to May 31, there’s something in it for you, too. Donors will receive a patriotic T-shirt and bonus points for a free movie ticket.

The donor center in Hattiesburg is located at 805 S. 28th Avenue. You can schedule an appointment to donate by calling 1-877-827-4367 or visiting www.bloodhero.com.

The experience was, to say the least, unsettling. “It was kind of hard,” said Magee, who is known by his nickname, “Fi Fi,” which for some reason lost in time, is spelled “Fa Fa.”
