Hattiesburg hiring high school students for Summer Jobs Program

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The City of Hattiesburg is looking for high school students over the age of 17 to fill around 50 summertime jobs.

Applications for the new Summer Jobs Program are now open. The positions available are assistant recreation specialist/summer day camp counselor, ground and maintenance crew worker and lifeguard.

The city is opening the jobs to students to offer real job experience that can also be applied in the classroom.

The program also gives students a chance to earn some extra money over the summer. The city says the jobs pay from $8 to $10 an hour.
