CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

National Guard troops from Alabama and Louisiana will spend much of their summer at Camp Shelby.

The 31st Chemical Brigade from Alabama and the 256th Brigade Combat Team from Louisiana will train there.

The 31st will spend June at the post, and the 256th will be there in July and August.

"They have trained at Shelby before, especially the chemical brigade," said Col. Bobby Ginn, commander of Camp Shelby. "They have equipment stationed here from Alabama. The 256th from Louisiana, periodically, they have trained here over the last several years, but this year, they're bringing their entire brigade combat team to Camp Shelby."

Mississippi's 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team is in Texas, training for a nine-month deployment to the Middle East.
