WACO, TX - Jones County Junior College freshman Mireia Jordan became the first Lady Bobcat tennis player since 2010 to rally back from a first-match loss to win a singles title in the consolation bracket.

After dropping her opening match on Sunday, Jordan won four consecutive matches to win No. 1 consolation singles at the 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I National Tennis Tournament at the Waco Regional Tennis and Fitness Center.

Jordan capped her run to the title with an 8-3 victory over Yana Goransua of North Central College.

The last Lady Bobcat to come back through the bracket was Arlette Cochran, who won at No. 5 consolation singles in 2010.

JCJC sophomore Kaylee McLaurin, who prepped at Laurel Christian School, nearly matched Jordan's feat, reaching the finals of No. 4 consolation singles before falling 8-3 to Eastern Florida's Janine Jamie Duque.
