Investigators with the Laurel Police Department said Jackson was shot several times outside a home on South 14th Avenue on Monday evening.

A witness to the crime said House shot Jackson several times and then stood over her and fired again after she fell to the ground. She was later pronounced dead at South Central Regional Medical Center.

Family members called Jackson’s death a “sad situation.”
