COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) -

Columbia police and other law enforcement agencies arrested 20 people and seized drugs after a Saturday night street crime and gang operation.

The Columbia Police Department announced the arrests on Facebook Tuesday. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Mississippi Department of Corrections, Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Marion County Constable assisted in the operation on May 5, according to the post.

The post described the operation as a "street crime and gang intelligence saturation of the city," and resulted in 20 arrests and a "significant amount of drugs being taken off the streests."
