LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming congressional primary election is just around the corner.
The last day to register in-person is Monday by 5 p.m., but circuit clerk's offices across the state were open Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.
It gave residents an extra day to register or update their registration information.
The Jones County Circuit Clerk's office in Laurel said only one person took advantage of Saturday's extra hours.
That resident came in to make a change of address.
Applications by mail must be postmarked no later than May 7.
