School districts in Pine Belt to host summer feeding program

PINE BELT (WDAM) -

With summer just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about how children who receive free or reduced lunches will eat healthy during the summer break. A few school districts here in the Pine Belt are participating in this year's Summer Feeding Program.

Breakfast and lunch will be served Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will began at 8:00 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m., and lunch will began at 11:00 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. The program will start on June 4 and end July 26.

Jones County School District is offering free summer meals at the following schools:

  • South Jones High School
  • West Jones High School
  • Northeast Jones High School

Hattiesburg Public School District is offering summer meals at the following schools: 

  • Hattiesburg High School
  • N.R. Berger Middle School
  • Grace Christian Elementary School
  • Lillie Burney STEAM Academy 

The Jefferson Davis County School District is offering summer meals at the following school: 

  • Jefferson Davis County High School
  • J.E. Johnson Elementary School
