FestivalSouth is returning to Hattiesburg for a ninth year in June. The Hattiesburg Concert Association announced dates and performance schedules for the festival Wednesday morning.

The festival runs from June 9 through June 23, bringing dozens of events, performances and presentations to the Pine Belt.

"There's craft events, there's dance events, there are art events, it's really featuring the amazing talent that we have here in the Pine Belt area," said Mike Lopinto, artistic director for FestivalSouth.

For the fourth year, it will also feature the FestivalSouth Film Expo.

It includes 30 competitive films and will focus on Mississippi's Literary Legacy in Cinema.

"We'll be showing films by Tennessee Williams, we'll be showing "The Big Sleep," which was co-written by William Faulkner, we'll be showing, "As I Lay Dying," based on the Faulkner novel," said Miles Doleac, executive director of the FestivalSouth Film Expo.
