Pine Belt natives heading to the NFL

PINE BELT (WDAM) -

A few Pine Belt natives were selected in the 2018 NFL draft.

Jordan Thomas, of Sumrall, was drafted by the Houston Texans in the sixth round. Thomas played tight end at Mississippi State University.

Also, Logan Cooke, of Columbia, was drafted in the seventh round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cooke also played at Mississippi State as a punter for the Bulldogs.

Former University of Southern Mississippi defensive back Cornell Armstrong was also drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round.
