HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Sacred Heart students from pre-K to sixth grade participated in a cultural arts fair Friday.

Over 400 students, faculty and staff participated in the event. Each grade represented different countries such as Morocco, Kenya, Italy, Germany, China, Brazil and Venezuela.

"We believe here at Sacred Heart that you have to teach the whole child, to expose them to music and the visual arts and dance," said Lynette Villarreal, a
teacher at Sacred Heart. "Also all kinds of activities that engages them to learn about many different things and to explore them. And when they can explore it in real world experiences, they learn better from that."

The event is held every couple of years.

Each hallway in the school was decorated in the theme of the continents represented for the fair.
