JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Some of the brightest high school seniors in the Pine Belt gathered together at Jones County Junior College on Wednesday morning to join a celebration thrown in their honor.

The Top of Class event is held every year on the lawn of the JCJC President’s House to recognize valedictorians and salutatorians for all their hard work.

The Top of Class students come from about 50 high schools in 17 counties.

Top of Class is a tradition of celebrating academic excellence that has been going on for more than 30 years. WDAM and JCJC have partnered to put on the event for the past 21 years.
