Schedule: Second round of high school baseball playoffs

PINE BELT (WDAM) -

The second round of the Mississippi High School Activities Association baseball playoffs are upon us, and there are several teams from the Pine Belt still in the hunt for championship rings.

Here's the schedule for the upcoming best-of-three series:

Class 6A

  • Game 1: Friday - Pearl (22-6) at Oak Grove (15-9), TBA
  • Game 2: Saturday - Oak Grove at Pearl, TBA

Class 5A

  • Game 1: Friday - Pearl River Central (20-6) at West Harrison (16-11), 7 p.m., South Jones (14-10) at Natchez (17-7), 6 p.m. and Wayne County (17-9) at Hattiesburg (18-9), TBA
  • Game 2: Saturday - Natchez at South Jones, 2 p.m., West Harrison at Pearl River Central, 6:30 p.m. and West Jones at Brookhaven, TBA

Class 4A

  • Game 1: Friday - St. Stanislaus (11-10) at Purvis (21-3), 6 p.m. and Sumrall (22-7) at West Lauderdale (23-2), 7 p.m.
  • Game 2: Saturday - Vancleave vs. Poplarville, TBA and West Lauderdale at Sumrall, 7 p.m.

Class 3A

  • Game 1: Friday - Seminary (16-9) vs. Magee (18-9), TBA and West Marion (19-8) at Franklin County (17-7), 6 p.m.
  • Game 2: Saturday - Magee vs. Seminary, TBA and St. Andrew’s at Columbia, 11 a.m.

Class 2A

  • Game 1: Friday - Richton (11-12-1) vs. St. Joseph (20-8), TBA and Taylorsville (15-10) at Loyd Star (20-5), 7 p.m.
  • Game 2: Saturday - Perry Central at Mize, TBA and St. Joseph at Richton, TBA
