ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - From Jones County Junior College Sports Information Department

Jones County Junior College sophomore pitcher Karli Perque was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges' Softball Pitcher of the Week for a third time this season.

Perque, a University of Memphis commitment, picked up two complete-game wins to help the fourth-ranked Lady Bobcats to a 4-0 mark last week.

The Westwego, La., native pitched seven, scoreless innings in JCJC's 7-0 win over Southwest Mississippi Community College, allowing three hits, walking no one and striking out nine.

She followed with another seven-inning effort, allowing two runs on three in JCJC's 7-2 victory over East Mississippi Community College. Peque walked two and struck eight.

Perque is 16-2 with 0.84 ERA. In 99 2/3 innings, she has allowed 69 hits, walked 33 and struck out 121. She stands fourth nationally in earned run average and is tied for ninth nationally in pitching victories.
