HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police are searching for a man who broke into Hardy Street Baptist Church with a hatchet in early April. 

The man broke into the church on April 7 around 3:30 a.m. Police believe this is the same suspect that later used a hatched to strike an outside ATM and industrial air compressor at Dandy Dan's on April 10.

    Hattiesburg police are searching for a suspect that struck an outdoor ATM and air compressor, causing thousands in damage.  Police said the unknown burglar attacked the ATM and industrial air compressor at Dandy Dan's gas station between around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10.     There is a heat advisory for two counties in the WDAM viewing area. They are Simpson and Lawrence counties. The advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday.
