HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A 20th annual event in the Hub City celebrating mud bugs and music was also focusing on cancer awareness.
The Downtown Crawfish Jam, hosted by the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood Association, raised money for the Walthall Foundation.
It also helped longtime festival supporter Debi Davenport, who's battling Ovarian Cancer.
The event featured an all-girl musical lineup, as well as all-you-could eat crawfish, burgers and hot dogs.
"$10 of all the T-shirt sales will go to Debi," said Andrea Saffle, executive director of the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association. "We've got ovarian cancer awareness pins and all kinds of paraphernalia for sale and we've got donation bins all over the park, so we're just trying to remind everybody to keep Debi in mind as well."
The event began with a 5K run from downtown Hattiesburg to Walthall Park.
