A Mississippi Department of Corrections inmate who escaped from a work detail in Noxubee County earlier this week has been captured.

According to MDOC, Kevin G. Rush was assigned to work a detail in Macon but never returned to the county community work center Wednesday.

Authorities caught up with Rush in Alabama on Friday morning and took him into custody.

Rush, 37, is serving a 10-year sentence for two burglaries in Lowndes County. He now faces an additional charge for escaping, according to MDOC.
