HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Five distinguished graduates of Pearl River Community College were inducted into that school's Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame in Hattiesburg Thursday night.

A ceremony was held at Southern Oaks and Gardens.

The five are attorney and former legislator J.P. Compretta, U.S. Navy veteran and adjunct PRCC instructor Benny J. Hornsby, retired professor and coach J. Larry Ladner, college administrator and U.S. Army reservist Dr. Pamela Rowsey and Forrest County Circuit Judge Jon Mark Weathers.

"I think the one thing we're grateful for is the example they provide to our students," said Adam Breerwood, president of Pearl River Community College. "We have a lot of students who come and it proves that if you take a chance on Pearl River, that the sky's the limit and dreams do come true."

A total of 37 people have been inducted into the college's Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame.
