LUMBERTON, MS (WDAM) -

Lumberton named a new police chief during a special-called Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday night. Mayor Quincy Rogers swore Carlus Page in as Police Chief of the Lumberton Police Department after the meeting.

Thursday afternoon, Page was officially introduced to the City of Lumberton as the new police chief.

Page has been with the department on and off for about three or four years, according to Rogers.

Former police chief Shane Flynt resigned after WDAM obtained a video of the chief smoking what he implied to be marijuana. The board accepted Flynt's resignation after he was initially suspended with pay following the release of the video.
