HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating what they describe as a "possible road rage shooting" that took place just before 11:00 p.m. in the 300 block of North 21st Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that was shot several times. Authorities say those in the car told them they were riding when a driver, who was in front of them, of a brown or tan four-door Honda sedan started firing shots at their car.

During the gunfire, multiple shots were fired striking one of the passengers of the other vehicle in the arm. A piece of bullet fragment grazed his arm. The unknown man was treated on the scene by the AAA  Ambulance Service for minor injuries.

At this time, the tag number, additional details of the vehicle and how many people were inside is not available.

The investigation in to the road rage incident is ongoing. Anyone with information related to the shooting is urged to contact the Hattiesburg Police or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP.
