USM vs. Western Kentucky postponed until Saturday at 2 p.m.

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hunter Slater’s seventh home run of the season extended USM’s lead to 7-2 over Western Kentucky in the eighth inning.

Not long after, the game was delayed due to weather. The Golden Eagles will continue Friday’s game on Saturday at 2 p.m. Forty-five minutes after the finish of the postponed contest, Southern Miss and Western Kentucky will play game two of the series.

    The Mississippi Court of Appeals affirmed the murder conviction and sentence of a man found guilty in the 2014 shooting death of a Hattiesburg man.  A Forrest County jury found V'Nell Miskell guilty of first-degree murder in November 2016 for the shooting death of 20-year-old Johnnie Cooper.
