WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) - The Wayne County War Eagles grabbed a big 3-2 win over Northeast Jones on Saturday night in Waynesboro.
Wayne County trailed the Tigers 2-1 headed to the bottom of the seventh inning. Northeast Jones senior Reid Reynolds gave his team the lead with his solo homer over the left field fence in the top of the seventh.
In the bottom of the frame, the War Eagles loaded the bases with no outs. Tanner Johnson was hit by a pitch, which scored RaKweon Davis to tie the game at 2-2. A batter later, Tanner Wells drew a walk-off walk to score Tyler Newsome for the game-winning run.
Wayne County improved to 12-6 while Northeast Jones dropped to 15-4 on the season.
