Wayne County junior Wells pitches perfect game

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Tanner Wells was a Tuesday night Pine Belt standout. The Wayne County junior pitched a perfect game in the War Eagles' 10-0 win over Laurel.

Wells faced 18 batters, striking out 10.

    The Mississippi Court of Appeals affirmed the murder conviction and sentence of a man found guilty in the 2014 shooting death of a Hattiesburg man.  A Forrest County jury found V'Nell Miskell guilty of first-degree murder in November 2016 for the shooting death of 20-year-old Johnnie Cooper.
