MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - About 400 Marion County high school students attended a youth career fair held at Columbia High School Tuesday.
Four different schools participated as potential employers from all across the state visited. Representatives from William Carey University as well as Pearl River Community College were there representing the field of teaching.
"We have so many students that really need to get out and possibly won't go on to college that need to know about the opportunities to find jobs once they graduate from high school," said Chris Turnage, Jobs for Mississippi Graduates teacher.
There were many different companies here including the medical field, a lighting company, Ingalls Shipyard,Jones Companies, and the military is.
The Junior Auxiliary of Columbia made the youth job fair possible through a partnership with the high school and Jobs for Mississippi Graduates.
